How can I make a profile?

Go to bookpoets.com

Click the “Sign up” button and fill out all relevant fields. You’ll have to verify your identity and email address to activate your account, similar to any other online marketplace or portal.

How can I edit my profile?

Click your profile photo in the upper right corner. Go to profile settings and change your display name, bio, or photo.

How does a booking work?

When you request to book a poet, the poet will receive a notification in their bookspoets.com inbox as well as an email. They can either accept or decline the booking. If they accept, a confirmation email will be sent to you, informing you that the booking was accepted and that your card has been charged. Both you and the poet will also be sent a Google Calendar invite for the booking. Select “Yes” for it to be added to your Google Calendar.

Why do I have to pay up front?

To protect both patrons and poets, payment is collected in full, in advance from the patron and held by Stripe until the event has taken place. After the event has taken place, the payment is sent to the poet.

How do I leave a review for my poet?

bookpoets.com encourages reviews from both sides, both patron and poet. We’re passionate about this practice as it builds trust, a resilient ecosystem, and mutual respect and reciprocity.
